Colly, how many fucking clubs do you support?

West Ham? Celtic? Barcelona? You're a Mick, so you're bound to support Hibs, Dundee United, Cliftonville, Man United, Liverpool and Panathinikos as well.

PS, won't be long until we're meeting your boys in hoops in Europe and sending them packing to Scotland via Ireland, with their tails between their legs.

Cruyff appears to be in favour of taking the piss out of the opposition .....
1974 World Cup final ..... Holland take the lead from a first minute penalty but blinded by their post War hatred of the Germans try to take the piss out of them instead of concentrating on playing properly and winning the match. The Germans recover , equalise and then win the match.

Johan Cruyff: "Messi-Suarez penalty made me feel happy, I share the same philosophy as those who are brave to do it. Football is to have fun and Messi is making it fun for everyone."

Johan Cruyff: "I don't understand the criticism now. When I did this, the press praised the penalty. They saw it as genius."

If it's good enough for JC then it's good enough for me

Yeah, I do agree for competition sake the wealth should be shared, as the change now will.

Just saying the rights to make your own deals isn't that unfair from a business point of view, but with the obvious monopoly it had to change. The same with the importance of FFP coming in, on the one hand it's great for competition, but at the same time restricting a club from spending money they can afford isn't really from a moral point.

The Open was held at Royal St GEORGE's in 2003.

Some complaints will be false.

Re: Barca Penalty
the premier league is the most popular in the world at least in part because it is competitive. Look at what's happened this year, it's even more exciting now that the playing fields being leveled. Of course you'd never want the ridiculous American franchise system where every team will eventually be winners because of its inherently socialsed nature, but doling out the money in a way that helps the lesser clubs helps to make it more watchable, which in turn increases its value. Hence, everyone wins.

Re: Barca Penalty
Ok, Ron, there is NO correlation between them negotiating a tv deal that cuts out any competition and then developing the best team in Europe 8 years later.

None at all.

Still, the fact they invested their ILL GOTTEN GAINS in youth should be applauded I suppose. Real Madrid went the Galacticos route and won 2 European Cups quickly and a 3rd a couple of years ago, Barcelona have won 4 in the same time by going a more longer term planning route. And the Chelsea cunts have only won one and Man City none.

Re: Barca Penalty
Come on, Phaize, it's an absolutely ludicrous situation.

In fact, LIVERPOOL suggested doing it in 2011, and were roundly - and correctly - absolutely cunted for doing so.

I'd be willing to bet you were on that thread calling them cunts for it, too.

Re: Barca Penalty
Yeah I saw that, and read your explanation..... but it's totally irrelevant to what you're saying about post Euro 96 TV money, and them not being that good before then. Which is what we've been chatting about since.

Re: Barca Penalty
The old structure was that any club could negotiate their own TV deals, which isn't exactly unfair when you think of clubs as an individual business. Shite clubs just aren't in demand, although for competition sakes it is better that wealth is shared, the little clubs will earn off of a TV deal that is really just from the attraction of a few clubs.

They negotiated their tv deal in the WAKE of Euro96, Sven son, which is why most on here think they've always been good.

Re: Barca Penalty
Remember that under Franco, Real Madrid had to succeed. There was no way that a Catalan team was going to be allowed to win. That might go some way to explaining the pre 1996 tally.

stewie griffin 5:32 Tue Feb 16
Re: Barca Penalty
The only reason Euro96 came up is because Macca believes I dislike them because David BECKHAM played for Real Madrid. My RETORT to him was taking the piss.

I do fucking hate them though. Always have done, since they treated VENABLES, ROBSON and LINEKER like shit.

The tv deal thing is an absolute disgrace, mind. Disgusting.
